The story that hit home for me happened about a year ago. We had members affected by the floods and they were not able to pay their bills both at the credit union and at other institutions. They were really falling behind because of the amount of gas they had to purchase to get to and from work. They were detoured and forced to take about an extra 2 hours per day instead of 30 minutes. We were able to refi their autos at lower rates for the available collateral and consolidate all their credit card debt. We saved the members close to $450.00 a month and we were also able to move their payments out 90 days to help get them caught up on their normal utility bills as well. The members were extremely happy and had tears of joy!
Name something on your “bucket list”.
I believe in pushing myself as much as possible physically, and would like to climb Kilimanjaro in the next few years. It’s both challenging and allows me to travel outside the country.
What is a fun fact about yourself?
I once caught a rainbow trout with my hand in a fast moving river.
What are you passionate about?
I love being outdoors with friends and family. In the summer you will generally find me hiking, camping, fishing or all three together. I’m typically not a homebody and you will not find me in the house. I always want to be outdoors!
