Why did you choose the Credit Union of Colorado and what keeps you here?
I applied at CUofCO because my boyfriend has been a member since his freshman year at Colorado School of Mines and has always gotten excellent member service. He told me, “The employees always seem like they actually want to be there! They’re all really nice,” and I have definitely found that to be true! I stay here because the culture is like nowhere else I’ve ever worked–positive, supportive and community-oriented and I still look forward to going to work every day.
What is your favorite “Here to Help” story?
My personal favorite “here to help” story involved helping an elderly victim of a scam get reunited with her money. She sent $8,000.00 to a stranger, believing she was helping with some costs for his overseas business. Luckily, I caught it with an alert the next day and contacted her to prevent her from sending any more of her lifetime savings. Through a lengthy process of working with the receiving financial institution, reporting to the police, and following the money, our member finally got her funds back almost 6 months later. Her gratitude made it all worth it!
What is a fun fact about yourself?
I had a zoo of pets growing up, including 2 lizards, a garter snake, gerbils, rats, mice, hamsters, guinea pigs, ferrets, cats, fish, and a black lab mix. I currently only have one slightly chubby grey cat, though.
