Membership approves federal charter PDF Print E-mail

On April 15, 2013 our credit union membership overwhelmingly approved a move from a State chartered credit union to a federally chartered credit union.  The move was approved based on the fact the credit union charter conversion can save hundreds of thousands of dollars annually and eliminate the inefficient process of accommodating two different regulators.

The move to a Federal charter will be completed by July 15, 2013.  It is important to note the following regarding this conversion.

  • Members will not experience any material disadvantages or adverse changes in services and benefits.
  • Members will continue to receive great service and the best in financial products and services we can offer.
  • The amount of Federal oversight and influence is expected to remain the same after this conversion.
  • The credit union will continue to be safe and sound since the Federal and State reviews are nearly identical; what needs to be reviewed in terms of safety and soundness will be reviewed by Federal regulators.
  • Members will continue to enjoy the benefit of accounts being insured by the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund.
