How does courtesy pay work?

Courtesy Pay allows certain accountholders in “good standing” the ability to overdraw their personal checking accounts up to a predetermined limit. Courtesy Pay offers you the valuable protection on those occasions when you miscalculate the balance in your checking accounts. With Courtesy Pay, you can avoid the embarrassment and costs associated with bouncing checks or having other transactions rejected. If you have an Overdraft Protection Loan, the Courtesy Pay limit will be used only if that loan has no available funds or is otherwise unavailable. There is no charge for the Courtesy Pay program unless it is utilized. Each paid item that triggers Courtesy Pay may result in a $25 Courtesy Pay fee charged to your account. This is a service where an opt-in is required. Please contact a member advocate at 1-800-444-4816 if you would like to opt-in for Courtesy Pay.
